For Families

ICCC is part of the Virginia Child Care Resource and Referral Network and provides resource and referrals to families free of charge, supported in part by funding through your Virginia Dept. of Social Services. ICCC is an educational program and not a regulatory agency. ICCC provides referrals to legally operating child care programs including regulated and unregulated centers, family child care homes and religious exempt centers as well as preschools, school aged, summer camp and other programs, whether for-profit or non-profit.

Referrals

Families can conduct their own child care search online to access regulated programs or families can work with ICCC staff to conduct a more extensive search based on individual needs and accessing a larger database including both regulated and unregulated providers in their community. Resource materials are a part of every referral supporting families to identify quality childcare, to monitor their childcare setting and to understand the regulations which impact childcare in Virginia.

Resources

Families can learn about additional resources to support your child care needs.

Financial Assistance for child care may be available through the Department of Social Services Child Care Subsidy Program. Families can access an online application to see if you may qualify.

Parents can subscribe to The Daily Parent, an online newsletter sponsored by Child Care aware offering tip for working families utilizing child care.

If you paid someone to care for a child or a dependent so you could work, you may be able to reduce your federal income tax by claiming the credit for child and dependent care expenses on your tax return. For info on this and other parent related tax info call the IRS at 1-800-829-4477 or visit the website.
